3 Tips for Consistent Vacation Rental Marketing

In the technology age we currently live in, the world seems to be getting busier and busier. We encounter thousands of messages a day, from all different directions. Therefore, consistency is key in getting your message heard and seeing a return on your marketing efforts.

In the vacation rental business, consistency is often times put on the back burner because of the many hats that a property manager wears. Being consistent in your marketing may be tough, but it is important if you want to keep up in the fast paced world we live in. Consistency is crucial in grabbing the attention of visitors on your website, engaging them, turning them into leads, and eventually guests at your vacation rental property. So how does a property manager do that exactly?

Here are three tips for being consistent in your vacation rental marketing:

  • Know your buyer. It is important to know who you are marketing to and creating content for. If you have no idea who your guest is then your content will be inconsistent and less likely to reach the right people. You need to know who your guest or guests are so that you can be consistent in creating content that is specifically for them. So who do you want to attract to your vacation rental? Creating a buyer persona can really give you an idea of who your guests are. A buyer persona is a semi fictional representation of your buyer backed up by actual research. Once you know who your buyer is you can begin creating content that is specifically targeted to them, ensuring you are consistent in reaching the people you want to reach and attract to your vacation rental property.
  • Set SMART goals. Why goals? Goals give your vacation rental marketing efforts direction by consistently moving towards an end result. SMART goals are goals that are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time sensitive. When you have set goals that fulfill these requirements, you then have something to work towards and can create a plan to meet those goals. Having goals ensures that you are being consistent in your marketing efforts rather than sporadically creating content without a purpose. As a property manager of a vacation rental there may be many goals that you are working towards each day. Therefore, setting a SMART goal specifically for your marketing efforts will help ensure that consistency in your vacation rental marketing is now a priority.
  • Schedule ahead. Scheduling your social media and blog posts ahead of time can help ensure that you are prepared in advance with interactive and engaging content. The more often and consistently you post, the more traffic you are likely to attract to your website, social media pages, and your vacation rental property. There are tools and services to help you post to all your social profiles at the same time to ensure consistency across all the platforms you use. Social media and blogging are key to creating a consistent stream of content that attracts your persona to become a guest at your vacation rental property.

Being consistent in your vacation rental marketing can be time consuming, but it should be a priority. It may not be an option for you to do alone, because of your already full schedule. To find out more about how you can be consistent in your vacation rental marketing efforts, we invite you to schedule a free consultation with our marketing experts to discuss the solutions that are right for you.
