Instagram for any kind of business can be tricky. However, it is a great platform to grow engagement, increase awareness and drive traffic to your vacation rentals. First you need to understand Instagram’s algorithm. Yes, just like other social media platforms, Instagram has an algorithm that determines how posts rank.

The ranking of posts goes: “The order of photos and videos in your feed will be based on the likelihood that you will be interested in the content, your relationship with the person posting and the timeliness of the post. Everything will be there, just in a different order.”

Here are ways you can use Instagram for your vacation rental.

Be real while at the same time providing your audience with quality images that they can interact and engage with.

Get creative with your contest and use a #hashtag to increase brand awareness. This gives you an opportunity to find new people who are interested in your rental while keeping past guests involved as well.
