Yesterday I was speaking to a client that is responsible for a resort with 152 rooms and she told me she felt like a human version of dial up, as I was explaining new strategies to the marketing plan. This simple statement got me thinking, how many more general managers feel the same way?
Good news for you, there is help with resort marketing, you just have to know where to look. I have been told that is half the problem; there is so much information out there, you don’t know what to try! How do you know what to use, and what will actually help you achieve results with your resort marketing?
Unfortunately, that is not a simple answer. Getting help with your resort marketing can be a trial and error process with what you find on the internet. But if you are like most of the people I know, they either don’t have time for it, or simply don’t want to as they are in that stage of their career that allows them the freedom of not having to stay up-to-date with the latest and greatest resort marketing trends.
Luckily for those that don’t want to stay with the trends, they choose to find help with their resort marketing by finding dinosaurs like myself that love keeping up with the latest trends. They leave the dirty work up to us, to bother with the trial and error of what works and what doesn’t.
Do keep in mind this one very important thing – what works for one resort may not work for another. I am a true believer that not all vacation rentals are created equal.
